Many historians trace the etymology of the name Cetara to the specific activity of tuna fishing, which the fishermen of this picturesque seaside village have practised since ancient times using tuna traps formerly known as ‘citariae’.

The success of our product is also due to the result of careful research into flavours and of an experimentation with the use of ingredients selected with care.
